Linda Roy Cross is the sister of Sister Veronica Roy CSJ. The author is the seventh of ten children born to first generation French Canadians Catholic immigrants to Kansas. See website: www.FrenchCanadianAncestors.com.
Linda was one of three 1963 graduates of Webster (Kansas) High School. The high school closed due to declining enrollment when the old school was demolished to make way for the building of the Webster Reservoir and State Park. A new school was built in 1959 and the high school closed in 1963. The elementary closed in 1965. One of Linda's dreams is to write about the moving of that town to make way for the Webster Reservoir. She already has a book title, "The Last Days of Webster, Kansas."Presently Cross is finalizing a novel - a story of five diverse families taking place in the early 1900s in Rooks County, Kansas.
As owner of Main Street Gallery in Stockton, Linda and Randy Cross, her husband of 30 years divide their time between Kansas and Arizona. She and her siblings still own the nearby farm land purchased by her parents, John and Olive Morin Roy in 1940.
A graduate of University of Colorado (Boulder) Linda's career was mostly in Human Resources at the Boulder Daily Camera. She also finds time to volunteer with a number of non-profits, including medical missions abroad. More travel plans are on the horizon. When she is not writing, traveling, or volunteering her art includes beaded and wire-wrapped serving pieces. www.LinsTableArt.weebly.com.
